Job Summary

The Product Marketing Manager of Audio will be responsible for driving the product direction and strategy, and day-to-day technology responsiveness for GoerTek’s Personal Audio solutions. The Product Marketing Manager of Audio will combine feedback from the market, sales, development, and customers to set the vision and lead execution of new features and products. Responsibilities will include on gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements and working closely with development to continue to deliver industry-leading solutions for targeted market segments. Must be adept at communicating vision, strategy, solutions and innovative approaches with sales, R&D, customers and partners.

  • Gather and analyze ongoing feedback from sales, R&D and the market to drive near term and long-term product direction, priorities and roadmaps
  • Develop product roadmap based on customer inputs and voice of the customer as well as general market trends and overall market direction.
  • Reduce customer/market requirement and use cases to marketing requirements documents that clearly defines product specification to be developed by R&D, process development etc.
  • Lead a cross-functional group of Engineering (EE, ME, Acoustic), Program Management, Account Management, and Industrial Design ensuring the status of development projects supporting new features
  • Develop account strategies for key new customers regarding GoerTek pricing, product positioning and differentiation.
  • Sales enablement – initiate initial contact with new and potential customers, communicate the value proposition of the products and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of new products; such as customer presentations and demos.
  • Market intelligence – be the expert on customers, their needs and their buying criteria; be the expert on the competition and how to exploit the competition’s weaknesses to win new designs.
  • Business Development – prior to Sales engagement, identify and reach out to potential new customers or partners especially in new high potential categories.
  • Present—on demand—about product strategy, roadmap, and existing features to internal and external audiences, including sales briefings, trade shows, and sales meetings
  • Adapt the product strategy to larger company direction changes and disruptive events
  • Monitor competitors and develop compelling differentiation within the product offerings
  • Communicate proactively and effectively with the customer and key internal stakeholders managing scope and expectations throughout the product development cycle.


  • B.S. in Engineering and at least 3 years of experience as a product manager in a consumer electronics products based company.
  • Audio related experience is highly desired.
  • Proven record in penetrating new customers or championing revenue growth in existing customers and getting products to market that innovate and exceed market demands.
  • Ability to lead, collaborate, negotiate and work effectively with cross-functional development teams.
  • Direct experience in product marketing and product management of solutions for Personal Audio solutions; Headphones, Loudspeakers, Distributed Audio, and Wireless Audio.
  • Working knowledge of Bluetooth, WiFI, and other proprietary RF technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate market requirements to marketing specification requirements for consumption by internal development teams and effectively communicating such requirements to various parts of the organization (R&D, Mfg, etc.).
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to influence and lead across organizational boundaries. · Ability to create focus throughout the organization by setting priorities, and driving teams towards clear targets within a matrix structure.
  • Strong communication skills with conversational ability in Mandarin.
  • Strong project management skills, can manage and execute large projects with global team participation
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time both domestically and internationally.
