Engineering Program Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an Engineering Program Manager in the Seattle, WA remote office to handle new product development (NPI) of consumer electronic products. 

This is a mid-level position, responsible for overall coordination between a US-based customer and GoerTek teams. You will interact with customer engineering team daily, and responsible for driving schedules and deliverables from GoerTek factory team in China, from project kick-off to mass production. 
  • Project coordination: champions and supports customer engineering group’s specific needs and requirements. 
  • Interacts with customers: assesses customer needs regarding priorities, deadlines, and quantities. Drive factory for on time deliverables. 
  • Schedules and monitors all NPI activities, from design kick-off, tooling, engineering builds through mass production.
  • Maintains documentation of customer communication, processing data, and other pertinent product information.
  • Quotation: sample costs, fixture costs, tooling costs, test costs, etc., during NPI engineering builds.
  • Track cost approval, PO, invoice to payment. 
  • Assists development with new process or materials as requested.
Education, Experience and Requirements

  • Must have experience working with the Microsoft account.
  • BS degree in Computer, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Mandarin Chinese is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of four years of program management experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment is needed. 
  • Must have experience with working in the consumer electronics industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic manufacturing techniques – tooling, injection molding, metal stamping, assembly and testing.
  • Working knowledge of production and quality control procedures used in a manufacturing environment.
  • Effective skill in establishing and maintaining working relationships with a wide range of individuals from varying economic, social, and educational backgrounds in a manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
