 Job Summary

Goertek is seeking a Technical Program Manager with expertise in the field of optics, camera modules and AR/VR devices.   The position involves the internal technical development of optics, optical modules to technical marketing of the company’s products and capabilities to customers in United States and Europe.

  • Design innovative optics and relevant module concepts to achieve company’s requirements with emphasis in camera modules/systems and AR/VR devices.
  • Design, assemble, and test prototype systems incorporating these concepts
  • Document and communicate designs to the product development team in China
  • Work with product development teams as required to move prototypes to production
  • Identify and establish partnerships with key vendors and OEM’s
  • Provide technical marketing support to in the promotion of company’s optical products.
  • Work with Sales, identify and meet with customers to promote the components and derive solutions on how they can be integrated into their product to provide additional user interface experience.
  • Work closely with customers on their future technical requirements, analyze market and technology trends and participate in the roadmap definition.
  • Track revenue targets and to provide recovery plans for any shortfalls.
  • Create competitive analysis reports of suppliers in the equivalent or similar space and strategy to ensure the company is always ahead of the competition


  • A minimum of a Masters in Optics, Applied Physics or Engineering (Optical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred) or relevant degree
  • 5+ years of experience in designing optics for various applications from AR/VR to cameras, optical systems design and development in the consumer space
  • Knowledge of display technology, camera modules, lenses and optics will be required.
  • Proficiency with ZEMAX and/or CODE V design tools or other optical design programs
  • A working knowledge of glass molding and engineering polymers is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong ability to build and foster relationships
  • Fast learner and able to deal with challenge
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively and handle and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to perform in a fast paced environment and under pressure
  • Strong working knowledge of software tools such as Excel, Word and Power Point, Etc.
  • Ability to travel around 20% of the time both domestically and internationally
